Since Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, rumors have run rampant regarding potential landing spots.
The Miami Heat have emerged as a possible destination for the two-time NBA champion. The lingering chatter has led to a few Heat players being mentioned as trade assets to move the star forward to Miami.
Among them is All-Star big man Bam Adebayo due to his talent and contract. The Heat star big man recently voiced that he doesn’t feed too much into the chatter around him.
“It is what it is, control what you can control,” said Adebayo, who has been viewed as a lynchpin to a possible deal for Durant via Pro Basketball Talk. “Obviously it’s an opportunity for something, but in my opinion, control what you can control. I can’t control that.
“So do what I’ve been doing. I get up early. I work out. Having fun with these kids. And I’m going to go home and go to sleep.”
Adebayo has also been mentioned in possible trade talks for Utah Jazz star guard Donovan Mitchell. In any move, he is likely a player that will need to be included to acquire either Mitchell or Durant.

The 25-year-old is well aware of his standing in the situation as a key piece in a trade. Nonetheless, his focus remains on what he can control, which is working on his craft over the offseason to help push his team toward NBA Title contention.
Time will tell what lies ahead, but it doesn’t appear that Adebayo is too concerned about the matter.
