The Los Angeles Chargers headed into this NFL season with high hopes of finally being able to live up to expectations during the Justin Herbert era, as the team is stacked on both sides of the football and more than capable of competing with any team in the league.
Unfortunately, the start of the 2023 campaign has not gone according to plan for the Chargers, with the team losing the first two games of the season. Los Angeles is now looking for answers, as they have not been able to find it on the football field, with head coach Brandon Staley likely on the hot seat moving forward.

Although the team is in trouble, Herbert says the Chargers can’t panic as they head into Week 3 to face the Minnesota Vikings this weekend via Kris Rhim of ESPN.
“Panicking is never gonna fix anything,” Herbert said. “And so, you know, it’s up to us to be able to fix that as an offense and score more points. And you know, we believe in the defense, and sometimes we’re gonna score a bunch of points. Sometimes, we’re not, but it’s up to us as a team to play together.”
Star safety Derwin James admits it’s been frustrating for the team, but is also not panicking heading into Week 3.
“Definitely been frustrating,” safety Derwin James said. “We haven’t gotten the results that we wanted, but we will keep working hard. We’re not panicking. We’re not quitting, you know, turning our back on each other.”
It’ll be interesting to see if the Chargers can turn things around before the season gets out of hand, as the competition in the AFC is fierce. Only time will tell if Herbert and company have what it takes to reach their true potential.
