The Cleveland Browns are coming off a disappointing loss to the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers, in which the team’s offense fell apart, and T.J. Watt and company were able to have a big day against quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Watson and company had no answer for the swarming Steelers defense, as they struggled to get going offensively without coughing up the football through the air or on the ground. Along with the Browns struggling with turnovers in Week 2, Cleveland suffered a major loss to their offense, with star running back Nick Chubb going down with a season-ending knee injury.
In the aftermath of Chubb’s injury, the team has turned to a familiar face to fill the void left in the backfield, as Cleveland has agreed to a one-year deal with veteran back Kareem Hunt, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Terms were not disclosed but a source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday that Hunt signed a one-year deal worth up to $4 million. Chubb was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move.
Ironically enough, Hunt did his due diligence during the NFL offseason to find a new home in the NFL but chose not to sign with one of those teams that showed interest, as he wanted the right situation.

Although it’s under unfortunate circumstances, Hunt has found an ideal situation in Cleveland, and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to prove his worth to the team.
“I came ready to play and win. I’m just ready to go out there and showcase my talent,” Hunt said Wednesday. “I know what I bring to the table. … I’m willing to come in and do whatever it takes just to help win.”
Cleveland may have lucked out with Hunt’s availability, but Chubb being done for the season is a costly loss.
