The Las Vegas Raiders headed into the offseason eyeing to remodel their offense through free agency.
The Raiders continued that quest by adding another familiar face for head coach Josh McDaniels after inking wide receiver Jakobi Meyers to a three-year, $33 million deal.
McDaniels coached Meyers from 2019-2021 with the New England Patriots. The veteran wideout became a key asset in the Patriots’ passing game as one of the primary targets.
In 60 career regular-season games, he has 235 receptions for 2,758 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Meyers is coming off a productive campaign, totaling 67 catches for 804 receiving yards and six touchdowns. The NC State product has notched at least 65 catches and 800 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons.
The 26-year-old brings to the table another legitimate receiving threat alongside All-Pro wideout Davante Adams, tight end Darren Waller, and wide receiver Hunter Renfrow.
Meyers has developed into a dependable offensive factor that will provide depth and dependable productivity. His familiarity with McDaniels’ offensive scheme should help him quickly acquiesce into the fold to become an immediate significant contributor.

The Raiders are hoping that the addition of Meyers helps provide more stability to the offense that will now feature Jimmy Garoppolo leading the charge.
Las Vegas previously inked Garoppolo on a three-year, $67.5 million deal to effectively replace longtime starter, Derek Carr.
The 2023 season may become a make-or-break campaign for McDaniels after a rough first year after missing the playoff behind a 6-11 record.
