With the offseason in full swing, the focus has shifted over to star quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ NFL future.
Rodgers remained publicly mum with his game plan for the 2023 season due to his uncertain standing with the Green Bay Packers. The four-time league MVP cleared the air on Wednesday morning during an interview on the Pat McAfee Show.

Rodgers stated that he has made the Packers aware that he intends to continue playing and wants to do that with the New York Jets.
“I made it clear my intention was to play and to play for the New York Jets, and I haven’t been holding anything up. It’s the compensation that the Packers are trying to get. … The Packers want to move on and have let me know that in so many words,” he said via ESPN.
Rodgers recently met with the Jets led by the group of team owner Woody Johnson, general manager Joe Douglas, and head coach Robert Saleh. The 39-year-old voiced that there are a plethora of reasons for his desire to play for the Jets.
“There are a lot of reasons why the Jets are attractive,” Rodgers said. “There’s one coach who has meant as much to me as any coach I’ve ever had.” He was referring to recently hired Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, the Packers’ coordinator from 2019 to 2021. During that period, Rodgers won his third and fourth NFL MVPs.”
All that leaves is for the Packers and Jets to work out the compensation to move the star quarterback.
