The Buffalo Bills were dealt a devastating blow after star pass rusher Von Miller suffered lateral meniscus damage in his knee.
During a recent on his “VonCast” podcast, the eight-time Pro Bowler stated that he’s hoping to play against the New York Jets on Dec. 11.
“I do have some lateral meniscus damage and it’s going to have to be addressed,” Miller said on the podcast via ESPN. “But I do feel like I can, you know, play through that, so I’m just gonna wait a little bit, and let the swelling go down for about 7-10 days and, hopefully, right before the Jets game I will be back.”
Although Miller is shooting to return to the lineup soon, the Bills will take the precautionary route due to the sensitivity of the injury. He has been a critical part of Buffalo’s front seven behind his pass-rushing presence.
He is currently third in the NFL with 38 quarterback pressures, sitting second behind Dallas Cowboys’ Micah Parsons (46). Miller is the only Bills player with more than 12 pressures, and he leads the team with eight sacks and pass rush win rate (23.7%).
His absence will leave a significant void, but the Bills are expected to get Greg Rousseau and AJ Epenesa back as both participated in practice fully this week.
